How Saliva Drug Testing Works
Saliva drug testing is a straightforward and efficient method for detecting the presence of drugs and their metabolites in the body. Here’s a brief overview of the process:

A swab is used to collect saliva from inside of the donor’s mouth. This is usually part of a diagnostic kit, designed to give you results in just a few minutes.
Testing
Swab tests can screen for various substances, typically 6 drugs at a time. This covers about 97% of drug use by volume in the UK.
Interpretation
Test results are rapidly available and specify which drug or drugs have been detected. A non-negative reading indicates recent use of substances such as Cannabis, Cocaine, Opiates, Amphetamines / Methamphetamines and Benzodiazepines.
This testing method is highly practical for situations requiring immediate results and a recent history of substance use. It is often favoured where remote locations make toilet facilities less widely available. The detection window for drugs in disposable oral fluid drug testing kits is usually under 24 hours.
